Conference Information
We look forward to welcoming you to Dar es Salaam for the above conference and are pleased to provide the following information concerning the conference arrangements.
Visas
All visitors to Tanzania from non-Commonwealth countries and certain Commonwealth countries are required to hold a visa. For those traveling on diplomatic visas, visas are provided gratis. For those traveling on regular passports, the government of the United Republic of Tanzania has agreed to waive visa fees for pre-registered participants to this conference.
Referral visas, which require authorization of the Director of Immigration Services or the assistant Director of Immigration Services in Zanzibar, are required for the nationals of the following countries: Lebanon, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Somalia, Afghanistan, Senegal, Mali, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Ethiopia, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Morocco, Tunisia, Saud Arabia, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, Niger, and Liberia. The authorization process will be initiated once participants are registered and participants will be contacted if additional information is required.
All participants are encouraged to obtain visas from Tanzanian embassies/high commissions in their home countries, where available. A dedicated visa desk will be available at Julius.K. Nyerere International Airport (JKNIA) for pre-registered conference participants seeking to obtain visas on arrival. To expedite this process, a visa application form is attached which can be submitted to the officer at the desk on arrival.

Transportation
Transportation is being arranged by the Government of Tanzania as follows:
- From the airport to official conference hotels and return (from March 7 through March 14)
- From official hotels (Kempinski, Moevenpick and Southern Sun) to the BOTCC and return (from March 9 through March 11)
- For official social events (for the IMF Reception on March 9, and a dinner hosted by the Government of Tanzania on March 10)
Additional information about transportation arrangements will be available at the BOTCC, and at conference information desks located at official hotels.
Registration
Registration desks will be located on the ground floor of the Bank of Tanzania Conference Centre (BOTCC). The entrance of the BOTCC is on Madaraka Street, off Mirambo Street.
Registration will be open as follows:

| Tuesday, March 10 | 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. |
| Wednesday, March 11 | 7:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. |
In order to avoid delays on the first morning of the conference, all participants are strongly advised to collect their badges and other conference materials before 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 9. Conference badges will also be needed to gain access to the Reception on Monday, March 9 (see Reception below).
Conference Agenda
The conference agenda is attached. Please note that conference sessions will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. each day, and participants should allow sufficient time for security screening procedures and to locate their assigned seats in the plenary session.
Plenary Seating
Information on assigned seating at the plenary sessions will be distributed at registration. All plenary sessions will be relayed by closed circuit television to an overflow room in the BOTCC.
Reception
Participants are invited to attend a Reception, hosted by IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 9, in the Kibo Ballroom at the Kempinski Hotel. Invitations will be issued at registration and must be presented with official conference name badges.
Hotel Payments
All participants are requested to relay their credit card information to hotels by February 27 in order to confirm their hotel reservations. Neither the IMF nor the Tanzanian authorities can be responsible for guaranteeing hotel reservations, and rooms without a valid credit card guarantee might be released.
Participants wishing to check-in early, or depart after the regular hotel check-out time, should inform the hotel, and additional charges might be incurred.
Armed Security
All armed executive protection personnel must be cleared in advance through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in accordance with the standard protocols and procedures for bringing weapons into Tanzania. Participants are advised to contact their Embassy in Tanzania for further information. Armed personnel arriving at the airport without prior clearance and approval will not be permitted to bring their weapons beyond immigration control, and could experience significant delays.
